Densely branched shrub with deep shiny green leaves. Flowering season: spring-summer. Flower to fruit in 3-4 weeks.

Malpighia plant prefers full sun for fruit development. It grows in any kind of soils as long as it drains well. Tolerates alkaline soil. Has the highest vitamin C content of any fruit. Used in jellies, jams, freezes without losing its vitamin C content. The plant is drought tolerant and easy to grow.
