Oxalis triangularis leaves are a stellar purple, with deep rose patterning and a zippy geometric shape. Also excellent as houseplants on a bright windowsill for color all winter.
Leaves and flowers are edible as a pleasant and decorative addition to the salad bowl. The leaves contain oxalic acid, which gives them their sharp flavour. Perfectly all right in small quantities, the leaves should not be eaten in large amounts. People with a tendency to rheumatism, arthritis, gout, kidney stones or hyperacidity should take especial caution.
